School-Age
Program
The Seton Center School-Age Program provides both before- and after-school
services and activities for children who range in age from entrance
to first grade through twelve years, in a relaxed atmosphere that
encourages friendship and self-esteem.
Our staff of resourceful, caring adults seeks to provide youngsters
of both mixed-age and same-age groups with a balance of recreational
and educational activities and the "quiet time" necessary
to do their homework and simply relax. That same type of balance
is also fostered through recognizing respect for and the value of
each person, while promoting a positive self-confidence and sense
of independence. And we are always ready to meet with parents or
guardians to discuss the needs of any child.
During the school year, we provide pre-school care beginning at
7:00AM, and after school care until 6:00PM, Monday through Friday.
During the Summer, we are open weekdays from 7:00AM to 6:00PM. Children
are provided breakfast and an afternoon snack that conform with
Child-Care Food Program guidelines. Any other nourishment is provided
by parents/guardians. During the school year, transportation is
provided for children attending schools within the local area.
The number of supporting professionals on our staff is always appropriate,
bettering the necessary 1/12 ratio for this age group. We believe
we offer an outstanding School-Age Program at an affordable cost
in a safe, secure environment.
The Child-Care Center is conveniently
located on Pioneer Avenue, at the Brookline
site of Seton Center, on one of the major access routes from Pittsburgh's
South Hills to the city. If you are interested, we would like to
meet with you to show you our facility and to discuss enrolling
your child or children. Please contact
us to arrange an appointment, or simply fill out the Pre-Registration
Form and we will contact you to set up a visit.
