Instructors
John Ott - Violin/Viola (Liaison, Seton Center School of Music)
An instructor for over thirteen years, John Ott has a Bachelor of Music degree from DePauw University and has studied music at Ithaca College, Amarillo College, and Northern Arizona University. He is certified as an instructor in Indiana, Texas, and Nevada as well as Pennsylvania, and is a certified Suzuki instructor. He has performed with the Reno Philharmonic, the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra, the Flagstaff Symphony, and the North Pittsburgh Philharmonic.
In 2005, John completed workshops in Introducing Music Together®: How Children Grow Musically and How You Can Help, and Teaching Music Together: Understanding and Enhancing the Young Child's Music Development. John now directs and teaches the Music Together program at Seton Center.
Devin Arrington - Violin/Theory/Composition
With degrees in music from Middlebury College and composition from
Carnegie Mellon University, Devin Arrington has taught violin worldwide
since 1996. He has performed and conducted in India and Russia,
as well as the United States, and has appeared in summer music festivals
in Colorado, Maine, and New York. Devin was assistant concertmaster
with the Delhi Symphony and has also performed with the Hanover
Chamber Orchestra and the Vermont Symphony Orchestra.
Sevil Ganjineh - Guitar
An instructor in guitar for five years at the Seton School of Music,
Sevil Ganjineh has degrees from Azad University in Tehran and the
Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He has played guitar for over
13 years, and performed for three years with the Iranian National
Ballet.
Rana Ganjineh - Cello
An instructor at Seton Center School of Music since 1986, Rana Ganjineh
has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Duquesne University.
Over the years, her students have won many awards in various competitions
and orchestras. Rana is a certified Suzuki instructor, and has performed
with the Duquesne Symphony and the Edgewood Symphony.
Erika Pierce - Viola/Violin
Joining Seton Center in 2005,
Erika Pierce also teaches at the Sweetwater Center for the Arts and is the viola coach for the Pittsburgh Youth Pops Orchestra. She has extensive experience in both instruction and performance, and is currently the principal violist with the North Pittsburgh Philharmonic. Erika has two Master of Arts degrees from Chatham College, in Teaching and in Children's and Adolescent Writing. She also holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, and studied viola performance and music education at Oberlin College.
