Friendly
Visitors Program
The Seton Center Friendly Visitors Program is an all-volunteer network
of people that spend at least an hour a week with homebound senior
citizens to provide companionship and to help reduce the sense of
isolation that often occurs in such individuals.
Our caring volunteers spend their time with seniors doing
such things as reading to them, writing letters for them, helping
arrange appointments, or making important telephone calls on their
behalf. Oftentimes, they help to link these folks to others in the
community. But mostly, they are there to talk with, and listen to,
those who need companionship.
Seton Center, in Greensburg, administers the Friendly Visitors program in cooperation with and funded by* the Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging.
